Onion pickles! That joker that lasts for weeks in the fridge and serves to give the sandwich a bossa, an extra flavor in the salad, to spice up the hamburger and so on... I made it with onion, but you can use that same "base" to make the pickles they want, that is a super joker recipe!
Ingredients
2 small red onions
1 cup of vinegar (of your choice)
1 teaspoon of salt
1 tea spoon of sugar
1 bay leaf
4 grains of black pepper
Step by step
1. Slice the onion into half moons and transfer it to a pot with an airtight seal,
2. In a pan, add the vinegar, salt and sugar,
3. Stir to dissolve and fever,
4. Pour over the onion, add the bay leaf, the peppercorns and make sure the onion is submerged in the vinegar,
5. Store in the fridge with airtight closure.
Because it is preserved very well in the fridge, here at home it stays 1 month without problems.
